My favorite project and most successful this year was probably the Independent Project. It was when we were able to take pictures of anything that we’ve learned, like depth of field, abstract, realistic and objective etc. I chose to take pictures of flowers with water droplets on them, and really focus on the water droplets on the flower. And also pictures of food, I used a cookie and oranges. And I put them on a white plate and really made them stand out.
The project that I developed the most knowledge on was the selfie project, because I learned how to photoshop and transfer images onto the same image. Also the light painting photography too, because I learned in order to capture the light and the image you’re drawing you need the shutter speed to be very slow and open wide. So it captures everything and you have enough time to create something cool.
I would have to say again that the Selfie Project was the one project that I had to use what I learned with skills and techniques. Because I had to use photoshop and change images to fit correctly onto the main image. I would like to be a photographer one day and my mom is one too. So learning all this stuff on photoshop really helps the growth of knowledge in making a picture even better.
A piece of artwork that reflects me as an artist is probably the Massachusetts Maritime Academy Ring Dance. This was my first event that I went to with a professional photographer and actually shot as a second photographer. This really expresses who I am because I love photographing events and capturing good times. And I was really proud of myself for how the images actually came out. They were really good!
I really liked learning how to take images in Photoshop and make them into something creative. I can now use the skills that I learned and help my mom in her photography career if she ever needed it. And some of the projects that I did will help me in the future.
